তাঁতের যে সুতোটা কাপড়ের পুরো দৈর্ঘ্য জুড়ে চলে, যেটা সবকিছু ধরে রাখে, তার নাম তানা।

On a loom, the warp is called the তানা. It runs the full length of the cloth, and every other thread weaves through it. It is the quiet one doing the holding. We named ourselves after it because that is the kind of clothing we want to make: the piece that holds the rest of your wardrobe together, year after year.

Our first three shares are hand block printed cotton, made slowly in Bangladesh. A carved wooden block, pressed by hand, one motif at a time. If you look closely you will find small differences between repeats: a corner pressed a little deeper, an edge a little lighter. We do not consider these flaws. They are the signature of the person who printed your share.

We are starting small. Not a collection, not a drop. Just a few sarees we can stand behind completely. When you order, we call you to confirm, we send it by courier, and you pay when it reaches your hands. That is the whole system.
